[News] The new rule of SBS dramas: Men become popular with wearing sweatpants in drama

A trend is going around where ratings go up when male main characters wear sweats.

SBS’ Wed/Thurs drama “49 Days” (Writer: So Hyun Kyung /Director: Cho Yong Kwang) aired on the 20th received a rise in ratings nationally on their 11th episode by 11.6% (an aggregate of AGB Neilson Media Research), which is 0.4% higher than last week, renewing its highest ratings and popularity.

Jung Il Woo’s popularity is also rising as the film fun is added and he takes over responsibility for scheduling. Jung Il Woo’s attire in his soap opera is becoming a daily topic and popularizing his fashion style.

The yellow sweat gear was known as “Jung Il Woo’s style” recently. On April 7th, as 8th episode’s Lee Kyung (Lee Yo Won) and possessed Ji Hyun (Nam Kyu Ree) were shooting a scene where they talk to one another at the school’s playground, Jung Il Woo wore a yellow sweatsuit with black stripes and sneakers with wings, making his style very unique.

Hyun Bin first set the trend in becoming popular on drama by wearing sweatpants on SBS’ “Secret Garden” (Writer: Kim Eun Sook /Director: Shin Woo Chul, Kwon Hyuk Chan) at the beginning of this year.

He popularized himself by wearing shiny blue sweatpants on his soap opera “Italian craftsman put his heart into every stitch" phrase. Because of this, in the entertainment world, the popularity of sweatpants is rising, and many stars are wearing the same kinds of attire.

Wearing sweatsuits on screen is the hip fashion that brings about a change in the character. From now on, Jung Il Woo from “49 days” is gaining close anticipation in regards to what fashion he will show that will affect the pleasure of the drama.
